Duncan Kings........


Born in 1957, Duncan Kings studied art foundation at Southend School of Art and a degree in Fine Art at Maidstone College of Art. In 1978, he moved to London to study for an MA degree in Fine Art at Chelsea School of Art. His first one-man exhibition of paintings and prints was held later that year.


After leaving Chelsea, Duncan moved to Leigh-on-Sea, Essex to pursue a career as a full-time artist. In the 1980's he visited Paris and produced a series of acrylic and watercolour paintings and later visited East Africa to study the landscape, people and wildlife of Kenya. Duncan’s interest in the process of drawing, painting, film and photography is integral to his work. He uses contrasting approaches and explores how primary and secondary sources can be explored using a range of media and techniques. He has achieved recognition for his portraits, landscapes, wildlife and mural work and is available for commissions.
